ZETA LTD
ABOUT ZETA LTD
Zeta Ltd are based in Launceston, Cornwall and have developed two products that when combined produce energy from farm waste, protect the environment and enable local industry to start their net zero emissions carbon reduction trajectory and journey.
Zeta have developed a prototype slurry dryer and compactor to allow local farmers in Cornwall to trial the farmyard machinery to thus prevent them using on the field which is limited by quantity and when it can be done by the environmental agency. They have also developed a prototype anaerobic digester that can generate power and heat for local industries from the dried slurry when mixed with other farm crops and grass silage.
When combined these two systems / items of plant and machinery can help reduce rural carbon footprint in the farming sector and provide renewable energy via this biofuel for local businesses.
FUNDING REQUIRED FOR
Zeta used the £2 million investment to build 2 No. mobile slurry dryers and compactors and an anaerobic digester at the Cornish Cheese Company factory on the outskirts of Launceston.
The project was completed in 2019 and since then Zeta have built a further two AD plants in Cornwall with a further three planned in the UK including Stranraer in Scotland.
P2NZ CLOSING STATEMENT
P2NZ were delighted to help Zeta with funding and mentoring for this rural community net zero emissions and environmentally friendly project and service.
Our mentoring commission finished recently in the summer of 2022 with Zeta now self financing their future projects via HSBC with support from the National Farmers Union and local government. It was a pleasure to help Zeta on their journey and fulfil their ambitions and goals.
“We were very impressed by P2NZ’s approach of joining finance with mentoring and access to academia which was useful and connected us with Cornwall College’s Agriculture and Countryside Management faculty. This joined up approach, introduced by P2NZ, certainly helped us progress our product development far quicker than originally imagined and helped us get our product to market prior to other competitors in mainland Europe” CEO, Trevor Polyphant
